How to Take the Perfect Selfie for Your AI Portrait
The quality of your input photos directly determines the quality of your AI portrait. Follow these simple tips to ensure we can create the most stunning, lifelike result possible.
Use Natural Daylight
Natural light is the single most important factor. Stand near a window or step outside on a bright but overcast day. Avoid harsh direct sunlight which creates unflattering shadows, and avoid indoor artificial lighting which distorts skin tones.
Face the Light Source
Position yourself so that the light falls directly onto your face, not from behind you. Backlit photos create silhouettes and make it very difficult to capture your facial features accurately. Front-facing light produces the most flattering and detailed results.
Shoot from Multiple Angles
Include a straight-on front-facing shot, a slight left turn, and a slight right turn. This variety gives us a complete picture of your facial structure and allows us to produce portraits that look authentically like you from every angle.
Keep Your Background Simple
A plain wall, a neutral backdrop, or an uncluttered outdoor setting works best. Busy or distracting backgrounds can interfere with how your face is captured. The simpler the background, the more clearly your features will come through.
Avoid Heavy Filters or Editing
Send us your original, unedited photos. Heavy Snapchat or Instagram filters alter your facial proportions and skin tone, which makes it harder to create an accurate likeness. We do all the artistic enhancement on our end — your natural photo is the perfect starting point.
Send 3 to 10 Clear Photos
More photos give us more reference points to work from. Aim for at least 5 photos taken on different days or in different lighting conditions. The more variety you provide, the more accurately we can capture your unique features and produce a portrait that truly looks like you.
